For a business, the LUMA bill is one of the fixed costs that weighs the most, and an outage can mean lost inventory or a day closed. A solar system with battery backup tackles both: it produces by day, when most businesses use the most power, and the battery keeps running what cannot be shut off.
Kilowatt PR designs and installs commercial solar systems for restaurants, pharmacies, warehouses, hotels, offices, workshops, and all types of businesses in Puerto Rico. Every system is designed and certified by a professional engineer (PE), with engineering advisory from Ing. Julio A. Santiago Pérez, PE #6083.
The system is sized from your last 12 LUMA bills, your business hours, and the available roof. Commercial LUMA bills may include demand charges in addition to consumption, so we review both before proposing anything. Savings are calculated from your real consumption and never exceed what your business uses.
The equipment is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, and Kilowatt PR handles the claim with the manufacturer for you. In addition, we offer a 1-year Kilowatt PR workmanship warranty on the installation, extendable up to 10 years with the Kilowatt Care maintenance plan.
The process includes a detailed consumption analysis, custom design, net metering application with LUMA Energy if your business wants it, and a maintenance plan with Kilowatt Care. On an existing roof, a construction permit is normally not required; if the system does not go on the existing roof (for example, a ground mount or an elevated structure), a permit is required and quoted separately.

Free Commercial Analysis
We study your LUMA Energy bills, consumption patterns, demand charges, and operating schedule to design the optimal system.
Design & Proposal
We present the design with a 7-year savings projection and a single total price. Kilowatt PR does not finance directly; we prepare the proposal and technical documentation for your bank or credit union. The lender sets the rate and payment.
Net Metering & Logistics
If you want net metering, we manage the interconnection request with LUMA Energy. Permits: usually none needed on an existing roof. We plan the installation so it does not affect your operations.
Installation
Our team installs the system in the shortest time possible, coordinating any necessary interruption during low-activity hours.
Commissioning
We commission the system and set up monitoring with your email so you can see production.
